We were very impressed with this museum which is tucked away from main tourist area of the town. It filled in a lot of detail following our visit to the Cueva while giving information about the local region throughout the centuries. There was an excellent art exhibition on when we were there too. Worth taking a little time out and... More

During a fantastic trip to Cueva de Nerja, our kids were desperate to go to the museum (which was plugged at the caves). However the museum was so poor in comparison. There was very little information and what exhibits there are seemed to be replicas. Please avoid.

I was rather disappointed in this museum. Great building, although a lot of it taken up with stairs and walkways, but really not much content and what there was I thought was badly displayed. Very dim lighting in lots of areas, and not enough labelling and information about what was on display. Also, lots of the "ancient" objects were actually... More

Very interesting and enjoyable visit. Information available in several languages and presented in a variety of ways. Easy to access for those with restricted mobility. Staff very helpful.

Nicely curated ... the mixing of people and time periods was thought provoking. Not enough substance for my liking but a lovely idea to have a display dedicated to tourism complete with plaster 1950's family and juke box.

Visited the museum as part of the ticket including the Tren and the Nerja Caves. Spread over 3 floors there didn't seem to be much of a flow to the exhibits and although some of it was quite interested we found it a bit of a muddle.

A pleasant little museum in the corner of Plaza de Espana (a huge square over the underground car-park, the square remaining sadly somewhat deserted). As others noted, the parts related to the nearby caves are very interesting, and it would probably be good to visit the museum and then the caves (the caves are a genuine five-star attraction, the museum... This small but modern museum adds another perspective to this area where the sun and water can be the dominant memories. The displays are well set out with descriptions in different languages. It adds a lot to a visit to the area.

Located just on Plaza España by the town hall, visiting the museum was something we did on the spur of the moment. Initially we were planning to go to the cave and bought our tickets from an agency on the other side of the square from the museum, and when we discovered the museum entrance was included in the €15...
