The Cathedral is beautiful and it preserves the grave of Iancu de Hunedoara, both Romanian and Hungarian hero and the queen Izabella of Hungary. It has beautiful art inside like a pieta and two beautiful stain glasses, unfortunately the last are difficult to be admired,...More

This church has historic significance. It is a part of antiquty and a special interest to historians as several important figures are buried within. It is cold and dark inside and lacks the awe inspiring beauty of many famous cathedrals in Europe.

One of the most complex church in Transylvania, which has four arhitectural styles in the Middle Ages. One of the most important leaders of Transylvania is burried here.

Oldest building in the citadel, dates back to 1039. Notice the asymmetry as one of the 2 towers blew up hundreds of years ago and was never rebuilt. Mostly Gothic style, includes the tomb of former king of Transylvania, Hunyadi Janos.

A clasica goth cathedral, really simple and nice, peaceful. The tower was not available to visit however just walking around was a beautiful experience. The explanations under the statues were mostly in Hungarian, very few in English and almost none in Romanian.

It is a beautiful cathedral and visiting it offers a good chance to understand a bit of the Romanian history. Kids loved it. We promised we will go again.

I was impressed - I hadn't expected so much light inside. A huge cathedral, but the white stone walls and big windows make it so bright. When I entered it in the morning on a sunny day it looked as if there was a kind...More
