Very nice large beach with a road along it separating the city of Nazare from the beach front. The city of Nazare has lots of restaurants and shops lining the drive and in many alleys/streets leading away from the beach. Great place for strolling and...More

Beautiful beach yielding stunning sunsets. Incredible photos from the pier looking back at the village after dark. Fish drying tacks, ball sports, beautiful cobble footpath, nice people, beach patrol....a highlight in a country of highlights!

The sea front front is spectacular from 500 meters away but any closer and one risks being sucked in by rogue waves, spun around in the surf, and mercilessly dragged to the open sea. The sea shore drops down about 15 feet ( 5 meters)...More

First we saw the beach and the town from the cliff (recommend) and then we drove down. Parked at the free parking lot within 5 minutes walk to the beach. The beach itself is quite big, wide, with soft, almost white sand.

Despite the rain we had a gorgeous view of the town and beach, suggest you walk along the road if not driving, and get up to the lighthouse to feel the power of Nazare winds. What a sight!

Walking the beach is well worth doing. Across from the beach are several hotels, restaurants and shops. A visit to the summit of Sitio via the funicular is worth seeing.

Nice beach, crowded in summer, quiet in winter... been there in December, didn’t try the water (cold,) but beautiful anyway. In summer the “viúvas de nazare” rent cabanas for a day in the beach (the girl from our hotel told us..)

We visited in the winter so it was just walking around, but the scenery is beautiful. Totally worth the visit and the waves are impressive!

Visited this each on glorious sunny day in December. Absolutely spotless with glorious views along the coast. Great local eateries nearby, alongside traditional fish drying nets. Fabulous.

Please take electric tram, which will climb up to a great height on top of hill where upper city is situated. Ticket is around 1.5 Euro. From there you can have a splendid view open to all direction towards sea. There also... More

No cabanas but you can rent a space in a small tent-like area (imagine a kid's fort made out of sheets - similar idea). The beach can get very windy. Also, my brother and I brought our own wind blocker to the beach and beach... More
