This park was established about a hundred years ago on grounds that were previously occupied by the Nordsiden churchyard and Christian's Church. The lovely old band stand was completed in 1879. The band stand is often used in the summer by, amongst others, the military band. The sculptor Dyre Vaa created the monument in the park. This was erected in 1939 in gratitude to the composers F.A. Reissiger and Oscar Borg for their efforts to promote the local musical life in Halden.

Big trees provide shadow if needed. The centre piece is the beautiful restored pavillion where the Norwegian Wind Ensemble gives concerts from time to time. A nice place to rest your feet, you will find benches, a fountain and a playground for children. A small daytime cafe is about to be reopened in 2016.

I mostly just walk right through it. Can't really say that I spent much time here. But there is always people here. It's a nice place to sit and relax. Take a breather, enjoy your lunch, let the children run free. I don't you this place my self, but it's nice enough.

located in the city center, good place to sit down and relax if the weather is good. You can lie down on the grass or sit on benches all over the park. Its a small park with a small fountain.
