If you like the outdoors and some lovely parkland you will love this. I went in October 2011 - not the best time and will go back again in the summer of 2012. The house itself is not of great interest - a small hunting lodge but it does have a great history - the owner was not very nice... More

We went here with the dogs last weekend and though it was a lovely park and enjoyed the long walk with the lakes, house etc. Also a bit of fun for kids with the Narnia trail. It's beside the lake and has plenty of slides etc for kids. I think there is a family rate but for two people in... More

The staff at reception were friendly, but at €8.75 per adult no amount of smiling would take away from a pricey visit. We were given a map. We arrived at 3.00 pm and fancied a quick bite to eat. For some reason the hot food counter had stopped serving. We did get some homemade soup which was actually homemade and... More

Visited Belverdere on Sept 11. just wanted to walk round gardens. Was told we would have to pay 24 euros for a family of 4. You may say that doesnt sound too bad. However it was a rainy day and chances were we would not make it round without getting wet but also I live in North County Dublin and... More

This attraction in the outskirts of Mullingar town and is just delightful. There is a admission fee which is a little pricey. The reception area, coffee shop, garden shop and restrooms are all contained in a beautiful stone building, very much in keeping with the period of Belvedere House itself. The walks are very child/buggy friendly and the views of... More

As a family of five we had to pay for the extra child-- the family rate only covers two children which cost us over 28 euro. We did not even get as a map as they had none left. We were not even given as much as a hello at the reception. The grounds are fabulous and the children really... More

Parking - excellent, shop and cafe - adequate and exactly as you'd expect in a historic house/garden. Toilets and other facilities all very good and very clean. We walked right round the 'Narnia trail' - the garden is lovely, it is very well kept, very tidy and well pathed in most areas. The link to Narnia is a bit tenuous... More

Visited Belvedere within the last week. Very well signposted and easy to find from road (unlike many other visitor attractions in Ireland!). Very nice reception area, nice setting with lovely view over the lake. Belvedere House itself was disappointing, it was a self guided tour and not a great deal to see inside the House. Gradens and parkland looked lovely,... More

Belvedere House and Gardens lie on the shores of Lough Ennell, south(ish) of Mullingar, co. Meath, just off the N52. It is well sign-posted from the N52. Plenty of parking available. We visited on a sunny afternoon in August and were able to enjoy the parkland, beautiful walled garden, woodland walks and the children particularly liked the two playgrounds near... More
