Visited feb 2022. Libby our guide was a fountain of knowledge and made our tour very enjoyable. Very interesting history of Nenagh and well worth visiting with free entry too. Nenagh castle across the road with great views. Eamon, Cheryl & the uninvited guest 😉 (you know who we mean Libby) can definitely recommend a visit 👍

Really helpful staff: a great addition to the town. Had a query relating to an old building (my home, hundreds of years old just trying to find out some finer details which is surprisingly hard) and although the heritage centre deals with genealogy the staff member I spoke to via phone on 10th August ‘21 was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction. A great sign of a person that even if they don’t have what you’re looking for they go above and beyond to help you.

This is definitely worth a look if you're near the town. They had great exhibits upstairs in the old prison building. The info provided by the staff was very good, concise and we learned a lot in the short amount of time we were here. They have an old shop and a classroom setup at the moment which are really cool. We visited on Friday August 14th.

Interesting museum with friendly and helpful staff. However don't bother with the genealogy person as she is dismissive, patronising and not that knowledgeable about the vagaries of areas along the Tipperary Limerick border and which county district information is registered. Seems to be only interested in advertising rootsireland as a genealogy search tool.

Fantastic visit to the Heritage Centre/Nenagh Gaol. Free entry which is incredible considering it is such a joy to visit. Guide Gerry was brilliant, a wealth of knowledge and information and entertaining too. Nenagh Castle is just across the road and Nenagh is well worth taking the time to explore. A bustling market town awash with history..........

We visited the Nenagh Heritage Museum after Nenagh Castle. We had seen it from the top of the castle and thought it looked like an interesting building. Also the receptionist of the Castle recommended it. There is no charge in and we had a lovely visit. It is small and quaint.
