From the great scenes atop the mountains, to the friendly welcoming chat we had with the chef in the cafe, to the unique retelling of the Mining Experience from our guide, my partner and i had a great time at this place. The people here give you the genuine time of day to describe what life down in the mine... More

Our tour guide was an ex-miner who had first had information about everything we needed to know. The dangers, the long days, the hard hard work. This place is a must-see attraction and the views of the scenic areas of Arigna, Lough Allen and Sliabh an Iarrann are so beautiful.

One of the wonderful things about this mining experience is you have a man who used to work here telling you about it. The mine has been closed for 26 years but when you enter it you can imagine the miners have just gone home. The guides are only to willing to answer any questions you have about life in... More

My husband and I enjoyed this experience. We learned a lot about the history of the mine and mining in Ireland in general. The guide, Gerry, had been a miner at Arigna mine and he included his experiences which made the tour take on a more personal feel. The video was informative. Good displays of equipment and fossils. I would... More

Visited Arigna with my husband, parents and our 8 month old in October. This was really enjoyable, very knowledgeable tour guide who had worked in the mines himself. Great set up with the little museum and the tour down the mines. He took care to check my little fella was ok and warned us for a piece with simulated explosion... More

My husband and I visited on 11/7/16. Our guide was Gerard, who was very knowledgeable and informative. You watch a 15 min. video first, then go on the 45 min. your. You really get a feel for the tough life miners had.

An excellent tour. Short and sweet, no waffle, just facts and a wonderful exposure to the life of a mine worker. Our tour guide Seamus was excellent! Kids loved it too.

My family visited here yesterday- Seamus was the guide for our tour and was very informative. Tour is very interesting and its definitely worth the journey. The fact that the guide actually worked in the mines gives you a true understanding of how difficult the job and conditions were- I wouldn't have lasted 1 day there!!! Our 5 year old's... More

We went there for the day. Our guide was a man by the name of Gerry Cullen (ex-miner). The tour was excellent and very informative. Also they have a nice souvenir shop and a small café (place to eat).
