Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went on a tour of the lighthouse with Ballycotton Sea Adventures - booked easily online and had a super 1.5 hour guided tour for €75 for family of 4. Well worth a visit to hear the history and tour the island and lighthouse. The boat over and back was lovely too and added to the experience.
Claire was our guide and was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had.
Absolutely recommend if visiting Ballycotton - we had a fab lunch at the Sea Chirch restaurant too!

We have been coming down to Youghal for 12 years and we just did the Ballycotton lighthouse trip.. I can safely say it has been the highlight of my summer. We met the skipper on the pier and he took us over to the island and we were greeted by the tour guide (who was so friendly) all the information was so interesting and really could have stayed there for another hour we did have a glorious day and the crossing over on the boat was great.. what an experience would highly recommend it and Ballycotton is fab... definitely one of the things to do

This was great, short boat trip, a hop really. Great sense of community from the tour guides, you can see the passion for the lighthouse, it's history and potential for the local area. Also Ballycotton is a real gem. Good for food and has a great cliff walk.

Super trip to the lighthouse! Redmond and Derry were very good to us. Derry was a pleasure to spend time with it, and it was great to just listen to his extensive knowledge of the lighthouse, the lighthouse keepers and the surrounding bay.
Definitely recommend the trip and we have great memories.
Thanks,
Richard

We travelled as a group on Saturday to see Ballycotton lighthouse. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable, funny and obviously passionate bout passing on, and learning about the history fo the Ballycotton lighthouse. After looking out at the island since the age of 2, 24 years later it was fantastic to finally visit and learn about it's history. I would really, really recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. Such a lovely day and I will definitely be back next year.

It’s a quick 15 minute boat ride to learn so much about the history of the Ballycotton Lighthouse. Our tour guide was a retired Lighthouse Keeper and he truly made the tour special with his inside knowledge. A must do if visiting Ballycotton
