Performed from May through October, The Great Passion Play in Eureka...

Performed from May through October, The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas is "America's #1 Attended Outdoor Drama." Since 1968, the Play has been seen by over 7.7 Million people from all over the world. The Play is performed beneath the night sky by a cast of around 150 actors and many live animals as well. Our hope and prayer is to make the Scriptures come alive! THE BIBLE MUSEUM is open every day except Sunday, 10:00am until 5:00pm. On days of Play performances, the Museum is open until 8:00pm (7:00pm after Labor Day). SACRED ARTS MUSEUM - Open every day before the Play from 11:00am - 8:00pm (after Labor Day until 7:00pm). Non-play days by appointment. THE HOLY LAND TOUR - a two-and-a-half-hour to three-hour guided tour. Guests are transported back in time as they walk through a full-sized replica of the East Jerusalem Gate and Marketplace to Biblically inspired exhibits which include Moses' Tabernacle in the Wilderness, Bethlehem Inn and the Nativity, the Upper Room, the Garden Tomb, the Walk with Peter, and other exhibits which depict life in Bible times. All exhibits have been researched archaeologically and historically for authenticity. Tours run on day of Play performances from 12:00pm-4:00pm. There is walking at each stop. The longest time walking at any one stop is approximately thirty minutes. During days the Play is not performed, we also have special guided tours of the Holy Land, backstage area, and lunch. These tours happen throughout the year every day but Sunday. Advanced reservations are required for these off-season tours.

Many do not know that Gerald L.K. Smith, a card-carrying fascist, is buried here. He founded the Play.

This is a beautiful presentation of the Great Passion Play. The "stage" is an array of areas carved out of the mountain. The seating area looks down, and up, to the locations that come to life at the appropriate times during the performand. The story of the Passion of Christ is presented beautifully. Please don't get up and leave immediately... More

The Great Passion Play is a unique and inspiring experience not to be missed. The story of the final weeks of Christ are shown in a very well staged spectacle with a huge cast and excellent production. The story begins with raising Lazerus from the dead and ends with the ascension of Christ. Very large cast of at least 100... More

We were able to view and walk around the statute, but were disappointed that the play was not in season. The website was not clear on this. It stated times, but not that they weren't open each night.

Beautifully acted by a multitude of actors is the story of Jesus's last days including the crucifiction. Audience is in niceseats on the side of a mountain looking down upon a biblical town where the play takes place. Very good.

The outdoor theater is very romantic and nice. The play was very good the only thing that was weird was the sound. It was like a CD was playing and the actors were lip synching. It was kind of weird.

Obviously the Passion Play is a nighttime event which takes place on a large outdoor stage. When you are there during the daytime, there are no actors present, but the setting and the awesome nature of the physical layout are apparent. On this my second trip to the location, I toured the museum area, gift shop, the giant Christ of... More

This is absolutely a fabulous portrayal of the Passion story - talented cast, amazing show, and excellent seating with rental blankets for $1 as well as the water bottles. We enjoyed it as much as we had many years ago and would certainly return to see it again. If we had had the time, we would have done the Holy... More

This play is a must for all believers. It tells stories from the Bible and about Jesus' life. The play is very well done. The play is done in the evening and if you are going to be there in October as we were you may want to bring a blanket (they do rent blankets). It was outing that still... More
