Castel-Merle is a complete experience of the prehistoric. Besides it being an ongoing archeological dig, the owners provide direct insights into prehistoric life. We watched a young man make fire with a couple of rocks and some tinder, knock flakes off a flint core stone...More

Castel-Merle is an ongoing dig, the perfect stop for a professional like me. There is a young lady, Isabelle, who gives a super tour to visitors at the dig site. Her grandfather (?) was the original digger; he lives in the nearby village where he...More
