Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Saw this on the map & thought it sounded cool. Was definitely disappointed as there was nothing at all to see. Spent 40 minutes walking to & from a "cemetary" that several city signs had pointed to, and it was nothing more than an indistinguishable hill with nothing at all on it. Couldn't even find it without combing around because the signs stopped. Honestly felt like I got catfished.
Left feeling annoyed. Wasn't worth getting eaten by bugs for.

If you're looking for a simple walk in the woods, go for it, otherwise you'll be disappointed.

Nothing super exciting, but an interesting site. Nice place for a little walk or maybe even a run up the stairs. Worth a look, if you're visiting old Porvoo.

We walked up after seeing the cathedral which is only a stone's throw away.

It's a nice walk up and when at the top you have some nice views of the city below.

Can imagine it would be lovely in summer for picnics etc.

Worth going up and taking a few pics :)

Not allot to see on Castle Hill, but the view of the city below is great! As for Castle Hill, you can get a little feel for what it might have been like when the Castle did exist!!

Castle Hill is a short walk from the old town and the location of a medieval fortress. The hill (also called Iso Linnamäki - great castle hill) doesn't have any relics or ruins to be seen, but you can still see the huge moat the encircled the site. You can also stand at the exact spot where Albert Edelfelt painted 'Porvoo Seen from Linamäki' - the exact same tree is still there over 120 years later and the scene looks pretty much the same - just more trees!

It's an easy to trek hill with cobblestones for the most part. Beautiful little shops, galleries and restaurants sprinkle the way so that there's something for every visitor. It isn't plagues with souvenir shops and most of what you find is handcrafted. The castle and cathedral are a great top to the walk and, while there's no actual view down to the river that we could find -there's one of those can't see the forest for the trees kind of thing happening- it was a great 2-3 hour walk with something for everyone.

Castle Hill is a really nice place to escape the tour buses when visiting Porvoo. The walking paths are shaded with plenty of spots to sit and take a break or simply enjoy being in nature. The views of Old Town Porvoo are your reward for the short climb up the hill.

If you continue and walk through the old town, there a big interesting hill that used to have a castle thousands of years ago. It's fun to walk in the hill and the bridges over moats. There's also a beautiful view towards the old town.

If you continue walking, there's a large green area with an old fence, very primitive fireplace to grill a sausage, an abandoned building and nice paths in the forest. There's also an ancient graveyard (=just a hill, no stones).

This is a very pleasant walk from the old town to the top of the hill where the castle once stood. It is a bit of a steep hill in some sections but can be easier accessed from the car park at the top road along from the cathedral. Lots of lovely big tree make it a leafy dappled walk in the sunshine. Lots of wee trails head out in lots of directions. From the paths leading to and from the top.
On my visit three young types with wispy beards were having a BBQ and had Metallica blasting form their transistor radio. These girls were doing no harm and just enjoying the summers day. Good music girls and the food smelled delicious so I know it was not vegetarian .

Not far from the old town is the castle hill. No castle there but I like the greens and trees and you can get a glimpse of the old town from elevated ground.
