As part of our tour in Patan my friend and I visited the Dubar Square on April 4, 2017.Situated to the north of the Durbar Square is a Buddhist monastery, popularly known as the Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar). It got this name because of the beautiful golden facade and other golden edifices that adorn the monastery. This significant site... More

This is a lovely little temple with a lot of spiritual meaning. It is small so unless you'd like to offer prayers here you don't need to spend much time. It is very beautiful though and I do recommend it.

Very interesting temple - I loved the atmosphere there as it was quiet, peaceful and full of authentic character. I enjoyed making my rounds through the temple and listening to the prayer. Wonderful place.

This Temple is good to visit; many metal made sculptures are there. Though the temple is heavily damaged due to the earthquake, many people visit this.

We stayed in the hotel nearby Golden Temple. In the morning, we went to this temple to see how Nepali pray. It is a very nice place and a must-visit to see about traditional people and their belief. You can also light up candles, make wishes and follow each steps how to pray in the temple. It is not allowed... More

One moment you are on the street with a lot of different architecture, and then you enter an arched doorway with heavy impressive animals flanking the doorway, and now everything inside that doorway is impressive. A lot of art and everything is very busy for the eye to take in. Also a Buddhist Monastery to see. A very different feel... More

The temples is this area had some damage from the 2015 earthquake. Some is already repaired and some still in process. This area is nice enough to visit but wasn't my favorite place we went in Kathmandu.
