Never had taken train from Williams, Az., to Grand Canyon - did so in an all day trip. The train is very slow - 2 hr. ride to the Canyon, 2 hr. ride back to Williams at about 25-30 mph for the 64 mile each...More

Wonderful train ride. The entertainment was great! The dome car was a great way to see the countryside while traveling into the Grand Canyon. You not only get entertained but you learn some history of the train and the area. Awesome trip!

So much better than driving up to the South Rim. We opted for the first class car and had a great time. Comfortable seats, great views of constantly changing terrain and the attendants were great. The entertainment on the train was fun and really passed...More

Definitely worth taking this train. Mario was so informative, attentive, and a people person. The Grand Canyon was amazing. There is much to see at the Canyon. The 4 hrs at the Canyon is perfect for your visit.

Because we were traveling as a family of 4, we decided to travel first class there and 'coach' for the return trip. Both were nice trips - the return trip was a little tight as far as space, but the return didn't seem long at...More

We enjoyed our 1st time trip to the Grand Canyon and taking the train, and the total Grand Canyon Railway Package, but I have to say, maybe not the most economical way to go. The bus tour was ok but, unnecessary, as you can take...More

My elderly mother and I enjoyed our venture greatly. It was easy to get tickets, boarding and on loading were a breeze. The time at the canyon was just right and the time back into Williams allowed us to get onto Phoenix after our arrival....More

Attendant had to cover too many guest areas. We wanted cocktails, but had to wait about 2 hours before being served, we were almost there by then. You lost revenue. You need to either have a better attendant ratio OR have a bar where we...More

Taking my 11 year old twins for the first time to see the Grand Canyon. Heard the railway was a must. Am I understanding correctly that it's 2 hours and 15 minutes EACH WAY?? And how long are you free once you are there? What is there to do? And which level of car is best? Husband wants to keep it cheap, but it looks like there's no air conditioning on the cheapest one?

Yes, it is 2 hours and 15 minutes each way. If you only stay one day, you arrive there at 11:45 and leave at 3:30. You can take a bus tour (1.5 hours), eat, walk along the rim of the Grand Canyon and enjoy the views, shop... More
