Our family enjoyed the Waterfall trail, great desert scenery, easy hike with a little bit of rock climbing to make our boys happy (not necessary on the trail but opportunities on the way). Petroglyphs were interesting.

Just at the west edge of the Greater Phoenix area is a museum, library and snack bar. Great for an easy amble or a more strenuous hike.

We went on the waterfall trail with our 7- and 9-year-olds. They were able to keep up with us well and we saw petroglyphs, wildlife, and a variety of plants along the way. Bring plenty of water as it is uphill on the way out and very sunny. The waterfall had nice, cool shade to stop for a snack before... More

This year the wildflowers were spectacular. They tell me it isn't always like this, but the views along the trails were just magnificent. Also, the trails were well-marked, and the most popular ones had several places with benches and shade for the less vigorous hikers to rest.

My wife and I are visiting the area to see her sister and husband. We are from the Midwest and decided to spend a couple of hours at the park. For midwesterners, the museum at the park was very informative. We learned about the vegetation, the animal life, and the history of the area. Driving through the park showed us... More

Went for the hike to the waterfall with my older inlaws and my 6 and 8 years old. Path is easy to clean but getting to the actual waterfall part is difficult. There isn't much for food or gifts in the park so plan ahead if you need to eat and bring lots of water.

Hiked the Waterfall Trail, about 2 miles round trip. Fairly east hike, with a great view at the end.

Clean bathrooms right at the start of the waterfall trail, easily accessible with strollers. There are benches all along the way to stop and take a break, the view of the mountains and landscape is stunning. With a good rain, the waterfall flows nicely. Be prepared to get your feet wet if you want a closer look as puddles can... More

This is our go-to park for hiking, and for taking out of town visitors of any hiking ability. Our favorite hike is the Mesquite-Willow-Ford-Mesquite loop. But there are hikes for any level of fitness. The Waterfall trail is handicap accessible. My 86 year old mother had not problem with this trail Today we did the Mesquite trail and saw great... More
