While visiting the presidio, my husband and I walked around the town of Tubac. It's so much greener and cooler there with the elevation at 3500. The shops are wonderful. The shopkeepers so helpful and friendly. Lot of nice restaurants too. The town is worth walking through. Very pretty, and well worth the drive. One thing, you will need to... More

If you are looking for pottery, jewelry, paintings local art or even nothing at all I can almost guarantee you will find something here. The shops are all close together so you may walk very easily from one to another weather permitting. The selection of items can keep you busy for a few hours and if you have someone who... More

This little village is only about 45-50 minutes fromTucson and I enjoyed my visit there. The artists and shop owners were all friendly and I did find a few things to purchase. Please note that there are not tons of restaurants here so choices on meals are a bit limited. I found it easy to walk around the village and... More

If you want a concentrated dose of Southwest culture, arts, and craftsmanship... then Tubac is a great one-stop-shopping site... With great places to peruse SW art, shop for SW decorations and furnishings, and sample artisan food experiences... Tubac always makes a satisfying day out.

Love the pottery from here and colors have never faded. They have many nice items inside and have bought this for myself and for presents around the holidays. The quality of the merchandise is great.

I could wander around this shop all day. So many treasures to see and some of them to take home. Last time we were in Tubac we visited the store and i bought a handbag. I left it in Australia. So when we went to Tucson we just had to drive to Tubac to buy another one. Don't misses this... More

If you have a day to spend shopping in beautiful boutique shops and fabulous art galleries, this is well worth the stop! Easy parking and walking around the shops, as well as restaurants to re-energize for more shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring this village oasis.

Drove down to Tubac from Tucson. The artwork was predictable; competent but mostly boring. The chocolate at Untamed Confections was great. The chocolates were devoured within minutes. Lunch at Elvira’s was killer good. There was a shop with wind-powered sculptures that was fantastic. Too bad we couldn’t take anything back on the plane. If you don’t have much time to... More

Tubac, about a 50-minute drive south of Tucson off I-19, offers lots of shopping -- mainly for Southwestern and Mexican items. It is a great one-stop place to pick up yard art, pottery, jewelry, nature photography, mesquite furniture, sculptures, paintings, kitchen gadgets and much more. Just about every shop offers free maps of the village, showing where stores and other... More

We went to Tubac because it sounded like a cool artists colony. Turns out it just a bunch of shops selling crafts. You don't see anyone making anything, and the goods are crafty, not art. We went to the Historical State Park, which was OK, and the Art Center which was also OK, but generally I was pretty mad I... More
