Erick was the best guide
Mar 2018 • Couples
We did Cano Island Snorkling, Pelagic Sea tour, Corcovado La Sirena and Mangrove tour with Erick. We booked private tours with him which are totally worth it. He was so good in what he does. Spotting all the animals and telling about them, very informative. He was very friendly and easy going and so passionate about animals and photography. Pelagic tour was perfect as Erick found a super pod of Spinner Dolphins for us, it was an amazing experience. Also the Mangrove tour was amazing, we saw so many birds and different monkeys, just wow. If you want to hire a guide in Osa, you definitely should book Erick!

Scarlet Macaws Toucans and more
Feb 2017 • Solo
I was with a group on a tour and Ian was our guide. His professionalism was first class. He looked after every one of us and made sure we enjoyed the experience in Corcovada national park. I remember the tree names still. And the best experience was the the scarlet macaws. He was so patient with me and with all of us as he helped us locate the wildlife.
The next day I went on a bird watching tour and was so happy to see my guide was Ian.
We saw so many wonderful birds in the Drake Bay area. The treat of it all was the Toucan eating fruit from the tree. I was so exited and I could clearly see Ian was so pleased that I has seen what I wanted. He knows his nature and his birds, and the history of the area. it was an experience I will treasure in my memory, and I have great pictures too. Thanks Ian

Jungle River Adventure
Feb 2017 • Couples
I just saw our guide Eric on Escape to Costa Rica on channel 4! The Jungle River tour was amazing fun, and Eric and his brother were brilliant guides. Seeing him again on the programme has left us longing to come back.
Eric is very knowledgable about natural history, the area and conservation. We particularly enjoyed the meal with the local family. I have tried to make yuca and plantain at home :)

Amazing tour with locals
Mar 2017 • Couples
On the 28th of March we did a adventure jungle floating tour.
We started with a nice hike where we learned a lot about trees and plants.
After a while we arrived at a the farm of Oldemar & Marielos. They were loveley! Just like the coffee and house.
With the horses we went to the river and did some floating, super cool!!! Lying in the water in the middle of the jungle is crazy.
Meanwhile the horses were taken to the end of the river, where we got on again and went to the farm back for a fantastic typical CR lunch. Perfect day with super nice company of Michael (guide)!
Must do when you are in Drake Bay

Great night tour & passionate guide!
Mar 2017 • Couples
We enjoyed every minute of our night walk with Miguel. He was very passionate and told us lot's of interesting things about the plants and animals in the forest. We were the only ones there and he went out of his way to help us take good pictures of every animal we came across, and even did some overtime to find the little red frogs we wanted to see. If we had more time in Drake, we would have definitely booked more tours with these guys. Highly recommended!

Friendliest Tour Guides on Earth!
Feb 2017 • Couples
We went on 2 tours with Eric and his brother Michael.

1. Floating River Tour - When Eric was unavailable to take us he offered his brother Michael. What a informational, sweet, intelligent man. He took us to Oldemar's farm. We took a short hike from the road to Oldemar house where Michael showed us plants and animals. Once we reached Oldemar's house his wife Maria made us lemonade and fresh coffee. We then took horses for a 30-45 horse ride until we reached the steep embankment to the river. Oldemar and Michael held my hand when needed to assist me down the ravine. On our way down Oldemar told us about the plants and what they could be used for. He also pointed out spider monkeys high in the trees as well as a Baird's Trogon Bird. Once we reached the rivers bank Michael and Oldemar took us for a float in a gorgeous waterfall and river. Totally pristine just the four of us. The water was fresh and not to cool. Swimming in the primary rainforest was exhilarating. After the hike out we went back to Oldemar's house where his wife Maria made an amazing lunch for us. We all sat down at their dinner table and ate and visited with one another. Oldemar is quite the character. Very witty and funny. His wife Maria rolls her eyes a lot at him. Haha.

2. Our second excursion with Natureseekers was a night bug hunt. We went on one with Tracy the Bug lady and enjoyed it so much we wanted to do it again. She was booked. So we had our hotel Tranquilo contact Michael and Eric to see if they could fit us in. Once again Michael and his brother Eric were amazing. Michael took us to a creek where we hiked in with rubber boots. We also walked around the embankment of the creek. Here we saw so many different things. Spiders, frogs, scorpions and lizards. Michael could make the same calls as the frogs and they would answer him so he could find him. He had a really cool light so we could get amazing photos. By the way when he tells you the lizards are sleeping and you get real close to take a picture and they jump at you. They weren't really sleeping. He laughed and said "he waked up". I would have laughed too. I would consider this bug tour equally as impressive as Tracy the Bug Lady.

Michael and Eric have great sense of humors. They love to joke and laugh with you. Both are very passionate about their jobs and knowledgable about their surroundings. We can't wait to go back next year and repeat these same excursions and more.

Thank you Michael for making our trip memorable.

Adventure of a lifetime!
Feb 2017 • Family
We went with Erick on two tours. One to Sirena station in Corcovado and one on his Jungle safari tour. These tours with Erick were the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We had two adventurous nine-year olds with us and we felt very safe trekking around Osa with Erick. Erick was born and raised in Osa so you cannot get a better guide. Osa has to be the most indescribably beautiful place on the planet. Erick taught us about Costa Rican history, animals, flora and fauna. He is very knowledgeable, engaging and a very nice person. We learned so much!! We saw many animals, plants, trees-- biodiversity in unimaginable proportions. The Safari jungle adventure was wonderful and fun and eating with a local family was really special. If you want to experience nature at it's best and teach yourselves or your children about how amazing this planet is so that we will all protect and honor it, don't hesitate to go. We will be back!!

Safari Jungle River Adventure
Feb 2017 • Couples
We were staying at Tranquilo Lodge and had Erick as a guide for a mangrove tour on our way in from Palmar Sur/Sierpe. He told us about the Safari Jungle River Adventure and assured us our almost-81-year-old father/father-in-law could do it. We signed up for it later that week and it was the best day of our trip!

Even the ride in the back of an open pick-up truck through the beautiful countryside was amazing. We enjoyed the cacophony of the primary rainforest in the morning, rode gentle horses and climbed down to the river to float (the three of us, Erick and his guide-in-training brother Michael) and to enjoy hanging out in the natural jacuzzi (the older member of our party and Oldemar from the Selva Casa Grande where we got the horses).

Erick, Michael and Oldemar took incredible care of our (quite fit) octogenarian and everything was tailored to our group's own pace and capabilities. Erick is a very knowledgeable guide and a nice guy as well. He highlights all kinds of interesting fauna with details we never would have known and can identify a huge range of birds (we also went birdwatching him early one morning).

After riding back we had a delicious lunch at the beautiful Casa. I think we all left dreaming about an off-the-grid life in the Osa Peninsula. Don't miss this tour!

Great Guide Company!
Jan 2017 • Family
We spent a week at the Tranquilo Lodge in late January and booked three tours offered by NaturaSeekers with Eric Beita as our guide, who has an amazing amount of knowledge about the wildlife and history of this area.

For the Sierpe Wetland Mangrove Experience, he took us to the beach where we met their boat for a ‘wet landing’ – you step directly onto the boat from the beach because docks are not allowed. We rode north from Drake Bay for half an hour or so and then into the mouth of the river. We saw so much wildlife, including lots of birds (scarlet macaws, toucans, ibis, white egrets, and smaller birds) as well as a lizard, a crocodile, and monkeys. By lunch time, we had encountered a group of a dozen or so capuchin monkeys and really enjoyed watching them roll around in the trees playing with one another, so much so that we actually pulled the boat up and had our lunch with them. This was a terrific tour!

We also went on the Safari Jungle River Adventure tour. We began with a taxi ride through the town of Drake and out to an area called Los Planos, where the truck stopped and we spent a couple of hours hiking through the rain forest, sometimes on a trail and sometimes just through the jungle. We made frequent stops to learn about the various types of plants and trees and take a swing on a vine if we dared. Eventually, we came to a clearing where a local family lives. They invited us in for delicious coffee and coconut cake, and then we headed out to the horses. After a short ride, we hiked down to the Rio Claro and went for a float down the river, eventually hiking back up to the horses and riding back to the house where we were served us lunch of rice, beans, a potato-squash mixture and a meat dish with vegetables. More coffee and coconut cake for dessert, and then we headed out to the road, where we were met by the truck and returned to the hotel.

Our third tour was the La Sirena portion of Corcovado National Park. We left by boat from the beach and headed south, where several other boats were landing as well. The park limits attendance to 100-150 people per day, so there were quite a few folks around. Eric took us hiking through the park for 3 to 4 hours, stopping frequently to point out the flora and fauna and give a detailed explanation of everything we saw. One highlight was seeing two tapirs, which are roughly 600-pound animals that were fortunately asleep in their mud baths. We also saw another sloth and many birds and monkeys. We stopped at the La Sirena station, which is a biological research facility with accommodations for about 40 people housed in bunks in two large rooms. After hiking a little further, we stopped on the beach for lunch and then headed back to the boat for the return trip home.

We highly recommend having a guide from NaturaSeekers – we would have missed so much without their expertise!
