Swimming is not allowed but there are various boats, kayaks and paddle boards for rent - somewhat speedy though. Great place to walk and close to town restaurants. Might be a little warm on a mid-summer afternoon.

I was here in the morning for a run. The place is clean and seemed safe. There were some rowers out on the lake. The paths are well maintained. It was a nice place to watch the sunrise.

It is a really nice place , not really a beach but you can walk or bike along the Salt River. There is always something to watch like rokers or peddlers. Plenty places to sit and to picknick.

We had a fun time here. Our family rented a covered 3 person bike and enjoyed a ride along the river. It is very scenic and there were a lot of people in kayaks and using SUP boards in the water. This is a nice recreation area filled with runners and other people enjoying the sunshine. You can pack a... More

Located along the Salt River (at this point they call it a "lake") this area has long paved paths that are used by walkers, bikers, etc. Note: virtually no shade. Limited free parking to north of Mill Street bridge that fills up early...paid lots available in area as well. Often there are festivals in the park on the south side... More

We rode the light rail to Tempe. it was an easy trip. Walked Mill street and headed to Tempe Beach Park. The park is beautiful with a great walking trail. We rented a peddle boat for an hour. We had a nice cruise on the lake. The water is green with algae and I feared for the health of the... More

Living in the Phoenix area, there isn't much water so walking around this man-made body of water was a delight.

We saw this on Trip Advisor and tried it for a morning walk. NIce trails along the water, well paved and wide. Pretty flat so you can get lots of steps in without maximum exertion.

Perfect location for a relaxing stroll on a beautiful day. Lots of people walking, pets and water sports. Liked all the bridges and airplane spotting. Great view of downtown in the distant.
