As part of the history of the old west... Browns Canyon Ranch played a big part. This ranch has been preserved and is quite an interesting history lesson. The area around the ranch has hiking trails and picnic areas. And don't forget the beautiful views. A very nice day trip.

The Old Ranch House is fun to see, it is totally authentic. In back of the ranch house there is a year round spring fed pond. It is not unusual to see lots of birds around the pond. There are picnic tables in the shade of the big trees. Nice place to have lunch and look for lizards, jack rabbits,... More

We were renting a place just down the road from Brown's Canyon Ranch and went looking for a moderate 3-4 mile hike. I had researched the trails on line prior to our visit but the descriptions weren't that helpful. We expected more info when we got there but it wasn't forthcoming. We drove to the ranch and took a look... More

This is a lovely spot to hike and the house and grounds are interesting, too. You can picnic, walk thru the house and hike the trails. We saw deer and lots of bluebirds there! Great place to let your kids run off some steam.

Very interesting and informative of the local area ranch life. You can now drive into the area. I appreciate that this has been made available for all to see and enjoy.

We visited this site and found the old ranch house mostly renovated and well-maintained. It was a self-guided tour for us and we took our time in each room. I found the kitchen very interesting especially with the Whirl wooden washing macing which I am guessing may be the forerunner of the Whirlpool Corporation. Various artifacts of the period held... This is a beautiful, peaceful hike. I did this a couple of months ago so I cannot remember exactly how many miles it was. I definitely felt like I got in my exercise for the day though. The views were gorgeous. I was told that there are sometimes a lot of mountain bikers. We only saw 2 that particular Sunday... More

Brown Canyon Ranch is at the doorstep of both Brown and Ramsey Canyon and some awesome hiking in the eastern part of the Huachuca Mountains. It's like stepping into a time capsule with the old ranch house, large oaks, covered porches, mountain vistas and a large pond. For years we have had gatherings of friends to celebrate many occasions. It... More

The house was occupied as recently as the 1950s be fell into disrepair until a foundation fixed it up and added historical information recently. Hiking trails, frog/duck pond, windmill, and, corral all add to the enjoyment. No charge, but a donation box is available. Events are held here periodically.
