I was lucky enough to wander up to the seating area with Tom Sr. being there. He was able to identify many of the hummingbirds (really all of them, but I wasn't good at telling the difference between the birds) and we even had two different types of woodpeckers visit as well. He told me about the fires and the... More

Even though it isn't yet time for the Migration, there was an astonishing number of different species of Hummingbirds to view. Viewing is made much easier by having a covered bleacher so you can sit and watch for hours. We were there nearly 3 hours and only left since we were getting hungry. We say Broadbilled, Anna's, White Eared, Broad... More

This is a great place to see the Magnificent Hummingbird. It's just a short dirt road off of Highway 90 up Miller Canyon Road only a couple of miles. A passenger car can make it fine just take it slow as there are some ruts in the road from the rains. Park at the end of the road on the... More

This is the premier spot in Southeastern Arizona for viewing hummingbirds. The Beatty's maintain a great selection of feeders in a viewing area that features comfortable covered seating. The fee of $5 per person is modest considering the effort expended to keep this site up and running. You can also hike up into Miller Canyon and view the many other... More

We stopped here had lunch, talked to the owner, bought some rhubarb, walked around, etc, nice place for lunch, we will go back and pay the $5 bucks to go through the property, iam not much of a bird person, but at least... Bleachers seating, multiple feeders, shade.....what's not to like. Best place for close observation and photography of all the hummingbirds through the seasons in SE Arizona. Bonus Mexican spotted owl up the canyon. The owners are very welcoming and helpful in supplying information about the birds and locations nearby. Very worthwhile and enjoyable to visit.

We stayed at the Azure Gate B&B in Tucson and our host told us about the hummingbirds at Miller's Canyon. It was worth the hour drive and time well spent. Beatty's is at the end of a rough dirt road, then another 1/4 mile walk up to the small bleachers and numbered feeding stations. I believe there were 50-75 birds... More

Despite some of the negative reviews, our group (birders/photographers) decided it would be worth a shot to try this place - with 5 of us, we figured we had the Beatty's outnumbered. We were greeted at the gazebo by Mrs. Beatty and she was very nice and welcoming. She collected our $5 fee, provided an update on what was being... More
