If you love scenery this is a great trip. Take your camera and tripod. Avoid going at noon if you want the best pictures, go either in the morning or evening for best shadows. If planning a vacation, try to visit in the spring or fall. Summer tends to be quite busy and sometimes too frustrating for a relaxing vacation.

The Red Rock Scenic Byway features amazing views of red rock and sandstone formations. It was one of the most beautiful, natural formations and areas that I have ever seen. The richness of the colors is breathtaking. Not to be missed.

Stunningly impressive. One of the best red rock scenic drives in the area. The roundabouts have helped ease traffic flow.

We drove The scenic byway 179 into Sedona. The views are so amazing. We have loved the varied landscapes of America on our 7 week road trip. Sedona has to be up in the top few of all the places we have seen.

Who'd guess the age of this amazing architectural achievement? The introduction outside was fascinating. The altar was lovely, the gift shop was nice and reasonably priced. "Peace to all who Enter".

While the Grand Canyon is...well, Grand, the Red Rock Scenic Byway is absolutely fabulous. The scenery changes as the sun changes and the colors of the mountains are simply stunning. You can easily drive it and the Rangers at the southern end of 179 are extremely helpful. If you want to hike there are plenty of trails.
