This was so informative and my kids loved it. Make sure you call ahead with a tour time by volunteers or rangers. Budget some extra time to get there since it's on a dirt/gravel road that can get bumpy in spots. The tour is broken...More

Reservations required, free but red rock pass needed to park. Well worth drive there, we took the route via Boynton Pass road, took a Corolla with no problem, just take it slow and easy. Plan on about 30-45 minutes drive if going via Boynton pass...More

At the Palatki Ruins, we saw more pictographs and petroglyphs in one place than we've seen anywhere else. More of the cliff dwellings remain than in some other similar sites, but this is not a "restored" site, so you will see the ravages of time.

I have so many pictures from this easy hike. The guide was informative and the hike in the ruins was in the shade prior to 1pm. The Pink Jeep tour guide was able to tell us about all of the pictographs on the wall and...More

This is a great side trip. It involves a drive out to an unpaved road and you have to be able to hike on uneven rocks and trails to get to the actual site. The dwelling is not accessible to wheelchairs.

My brother & I came to visit these ruins during our recent trip to Sedona. About 4 miles before you reach the parking lot, the paved road ends and becomes a dirt/gravel road. Any passenger car can make it, but it is a little slow...More

This beautiful spot is well worth the tiny inconvenience of driving the rough road. Slow down a little and enjoy the views as you approach the ruins. One thing that I didn't know before going, and I should have, is that the site closes promptly...More

There was no charge, but if you leave a donation it stays with Palatki and is used gratefully. Many of the docents are volunteers.
