We were surprised that one could drive all the way to highway 17, but that's not what we did. Just did the drive up to the vista point. We would have done some hiking elsewhere, but the temps were in the 100+. We really like...More

Rent a jeep and take a drive up Schnebly Hill yourself! It's the only way to go! I would highly recommend a closed jeep or you'll be covered in Red Dirtt at the end! Cough, cough, cough...

We drove a 4 Runner up this road to the vista at the top. The road was very challenging and 1.5 hours later we arrived at the top. The views all along the way were wonderful, and the vista at the top was breathtaking. Our...More

We love hiking Schnebly Hill. Great trails and surrounding views. It's an annual hike for us. Great for all ages. Limited parking.

We have driven 4x4 roads in Colorado and Arizona. This road up from Sedona is the roughest I've been on. Our guidebook rated it "easy," but can't quite figure out why. Perhaps because of the many places one can pull over for views, turning around,...More

Lovely sweeping views of Sedona and over the Oak Creek Canyon and Mingus Bridge, if you venture far enough. Access by foot, bike, horse or... Pink Jeeps! I, personally, use it as the training grounds for my trail runs. Some 2.6 mile into the road,...More

My family and I are planning a trip in May to Sedona and saw Schnebly Hill Road here on TripAdvisor. We have a minivan with decent clearance and would plan to exit from 17 and take the road to Sedona. Is this something that could be done? Thanks for any advice!

I would not do it ; you can however, make it to the vista and at that point I would turn around back to 17. We did it with a Toyota like jeep which high clearance and four wheel drive. Check out my site: sedonahari. Need... More
