Tried to go there last Sunday. The parking lot was full by mid-morning. There was a line of 8 cars in front of mine. Passengers were let out but a driver had to stay with the car. Then when a car left the lot, one...More

We hiked a short ways out and found multiple areas where you could wade in or jump into this amazingly cold water. The water is clean and pretty clear. We originally tried to go late morning on a Sunday but there was a line to...More

This a great swimming site - bring your bathing suit. You wiull also have a breathtaking view of world famous Cathedral Rock. Be sure and bring your camera. There is about a one mile hike to the swimming area of the river.

I love this area. It is beautiful, comfortable on a hot afternoon, a little crowded in areas, but worth it to soak in all the beauty the area offers. My favorite spot on this earth.

This picnic site & park is off the Red Rock Loop Road. It is clean and well maintained. The views of the Cathedral Rock are worth mentioning.

The back view of this rock formation actually sits on the state side and requires a $10.00 per vehicle entrance fee.

We stopped at Crescent Moon picnic site to walk the trails and see the reflections on the water. With the light just right the reflections of the rocks is amazing!

Worth the $10 entrance fee for the views of Cathedral Rock. A nice quiet spot for a picnic and swim.

Playing by the creek was so much fun with our kids and dog. I felt the $10 entrance is a bit steep but we paid it and had a fun day. I wish we had known Buddha beach was a bit further up and we...More

How late in the afternoon should I take my family to get a parking space to take pictures of sunlit Cathedral Rock with Oak Creek in the foreground? I would like to avoid the midday crowds for getting a parking space I see reading reviews. I would go there during the week to avoid crowds. We leave for vacation to Sedona in 1 week. Thank you.

Parking is rather ample as we usually arrive around mid-morning or noon and most of our trips have been in September when crowds and temperatures subside.

weird question. we have a group of star wars costumers and friends who would love to shoot with the scenery there. would it be ok to do that? They are not at all professional shoots. no money is being made by any party and it is purely for fun.

As the operator, I think it's awesome. However, we also have to consider the US Forest Service and their rules. While commercial photography requires a permit from the US Forest Service, my understanding is that... More

Does it cost to get in? And park? If so, how much?

It's $10 to get in and park. The Red Rocks pass, which works for the other parking lots adjacent to scenic places in Sedona, doesn't work there, because management of that park is subbed out to a private company. But it's... More
