A strenuous hike encompassing spectacular vistas and several unique geologic features such as domes, cross-bedded sandstone and arroyos. Not at all crowded. With some effort you can get away from it all.

Set off early to avoid the crowds and the heat. You can buy your trail pass for your car from Reception at the Enchantment Resort before you go. We took a fairly relaxed pace and it took us 5 hrs to get up and down....More

This is definitely the most difficult hike we have done in Sedona. If you have bad knees, this hike is NOT for you. If you lack endurance, this hike is NOT for you. You start out with a gentle walk from the parking lot over...More

The views from the top of Bear Mountain are beautiful, but it is a difficult trail. Can be very hot in summer when there is little shade. Anyone doing this trail should have proper footwear, lots of water and time to spare.

If hiking (with effort) is your passion, the Bear Mountain Trail will not disappoint. The trail offers a range of challenges and environments but can be done within 4 hours by any generally fit person. There is a wonderful plateau on the way up with...More

For serious hikers or at least the determined, this is one of the most amazing hikes you’ll find anywhere. It is strenuous with four false peaks that leave you wondering if you’ll ever get there. Don’t dispair; allow plenty of time, take it at your...More

Bear mountain trail was the first trail that my girlfriend and I hit on our trip to Sedona. It's known for being one of the steeper and less traveled trails in the area from what I was told by some locals. The trail is well...More

This is a very challenging trail with quite a bit of vertical elevation to climb. With that being said, once you make it to the top, the views are excellent. I was told that other trails, will give you almost as much view that are...More

You can hike the trail without them. I used them on and off. They were helpful for the steeper parts of the trail. But when we were doing rock scrambling I put them back in my backpack since they were in the way.

We hiked it Dec 29, 2017 and we were in our short sleeves! There was no ice or snow at all. You just need to watch the weather. The top of the mountain is only at 6000 feet.
