We stopped to hike the Bell Rock with my family of 5 (kids 14,12,12). The site is quite stunning. Our only issue was the trails are not marked well once you get to Bell Rock. We wanted to hike up but only made it about...More

Great views and mild to moderate hiking. Nice for those who want to explore off trail though be sure to follow signs that advise you on how to preserve the ecosystem!

Bell Rock is one of the gorgeous rock formations in the Sedona area. It is very easy to get to, with plenty of parking. My adult daughters and I were able to walk over from the Penrose B & B where we stayed in a...More

Would have liked to hiked this but it was too hot. It can viewed from the road while driving by, but it's not as impressive as Cathedral Rock. Yet another attraction that charges fees for parking.

Relatively easily accessible site of vortex energy. Easy to walk trail to rock. Beautiful views. Not sure about vortex energy though.

Climb around the rock can be difficult in places. Almost no shade, make sure to take lot of water and sun block. This is probably the most famous landmark but I enjoyed Cathedral Rock more.

The view from the ground is amazing. It was our first time in the area but the temps were just to much for us to try it the hike. The views we did have were great.

We parked in the Courthouse Butte viewing area. Up close to both rock formations and trails. We were headed north and just to hot in the pm to hike very far. Beautiful red rock and plant life.

Thids is another beautiful red rock formation in Sedona easily seen from 179 or the overlook. It is accessible from a nearby trail also.

Great morning hike that takes about 1.5 hours. Beautiful scenery and perfect to hike prior to Cathedral rock.

We stayed off the beaten path a little bit. Depending on what else you will do; we stayed East of Flagstaff at Twin Arrows Casino Resort at the edge of the Navajo Nation. This was good for us because we also went to the... More

Go quite early in the morning for hiking to avoid the heat and then star gazing is after sundown . . . Say, 10 p.m.

Can you see Bell Rock and drive the Oak creek Canyon and still have time to see Cathedral Rock? How far appart are they and how best to plan a day. Which is better to see at sunset?
