Intimate theater experience!

This is a small local theater. We saw The Little Mermaid. All actors 19 or younger. We have been many times. Love cause theater is in the round. No bad seats. Can't wait for the next show

While in Scottsdale we attended a play at the Desert Stages Theater. This was our third visit to see a plat at this venue. The theaters are very small and allow you to get into the.production as well as be close to watch the performers. The actors are all local and many of them are youngsters. The ticket prices are... Our group of 4 adults recently saw the play "Don't Dress For Dinner" in the Actor's Cafe, which is a smaller, more intimate, theater space than the main stage. The audience practically sits on the stage, making for a cozy experience. The actors delivered a smooth, entertaining performance the night we attended and had the audience in stitches. Bravo! My... I had my second visit to the Desert Stage Theater this past weekend. The very small theater adds to the enjoyment of the shows put on with local non-professional actors. The ticket price ($22) makes this an excellent value for a few hours of live theater. We saw the farce Moon Over Buffalo and enjoyed it immensely. The two lead... More

So far we have seen two shows at Desert Stages theater: 9 to 5 and GlenGary Glen Ross. 9-5: Definitely community theater level. Didn't have high expectations so had fun and we were delighted. Theater is in the round, so were up close and personal with the scenes. Took actors a scene or two to warm into their voices, but... More

This theater is small and intimate so any seat is great. The seating for each play is set around the stage and every seat is pretty close to the stage...you feel as if you are part of the show. The prices are also reasonable so it is great to go more often. I have seen shows here over the last... More

Over the years, I've heard both good and bad things about Desert Stages. It was with a deep sigh when I learned that two of my dearest acting friends, who have performed in professional level (meaning Actor's Equity) productions in the past, were asked to "lend" (for a cost, yes, actors PAY to be in the shows, what the what??)... We went to see Lombardi here and it was a fairly painful experience, literally and figuratively. The "theater" is just some extremely uncomfortable chairs jammed together about 5-6 rows deep. I'd like to say there wasn't a bad seat in the house because they were all within a few feet of the stage, but that intimacy was countered by the... More

You should only go if your family is performing. The theater is filthy, the chairs have stains/filth all over them. Vacuuming is apparently of no interest to them, lights burnt out or not the same color. Play itself was maybe middle school caliber. I think the youth did their best but were not ready for prime time..... voices off key... More

We are always looking for new things to do and when we discovered that Footloose was playing at this theater we decided to attend a performance. We were amazed at how good the kids were in this musical!!! Willard stole the show but they are all fantastic. The theater is small maybe around 150 seats. The stage is in the... More
