Easy to moderate 3.5 mile total trail with classic rock formations, cactus and reptiles. Some cool stop off points that point out and identify surrounding rock formations. A good morning or later afternoon hike - very little mid day shade.

This hike kind of surprised us. We researched on the web before going... but didn't realize it was kind of in a neighborhood. A fairly upscale one in fact. Architecturally cool visitor center with bathrooms at base. Medium sized parking lot that filled up early...More

Being in the area Pinnacle Peak really was an outstanding experience. Lots to see and lots of trails - also excellent road bike roads in the area.

We are beginner hikers and this was not a difficult climb and the views are worth the effort. We arrived about 0930 and it was already busy. I suggest going early, taking plenty of water (more than 1 bottle), and wear sturdy shoes you don't...More

You get a great view of the valley. They climb to the top is a bit strenuous, but well worth the effort.

This was a great hike with a nice worn path and just the right amount of challenge going up and down the trails. Some beautiful plants along the way with some informative signage. Great views.

Bring water!! And don’t climb higher than your ability. My knees told me when to turn back but I still had beautiful views and a bit of a workout.

It depends. If you like desert hikes, the two you describe are different enough to be enjoyable. But if you are the sort of person who might say, "seen one desert, seen them all" they are somewhat similar vistas. They are... More
