This was a nice place to escape the hot Arizona sun and run into some happy birds - trees, water. It's not spectacularly beautiful but if you're in Safford and looking for some wildlife, it's worth the drive

We went here primarily to see birds, but the scenery itself is also very nice, especially the high view of the box canyon.

Came out with my dogs and daughter, there was no one else around as we walked down the river. Great spot for a hike, but it was quite hot in July!

The only reason to go out with the family and friends to enjoy themselves in a area that is not far from home. The place is very good for a family outing.

Beautiful scenery and an excellent chance to see wildlife. We spotted a Coati by the river. Bumpy drive out, but worth it.

the road into the Gila Box is on the primitive side but the views are well worth it. An enjoyable area to spend a relaxing day.

Gila Box is so beautiful. When we were first driving in, I wanted to turn back so many times, because the road was so bad. It's not like we needed the 4X4, although we had it, it's that it is all gravel, it was dusty,...More
