Great little museum

I can't believe I hadn't been there sooner. What a nice little museum for the Phoenix Police Department including a memorial. I plan to go back with the grandkids.

We enjoy museums wherever we travel. We visited the Wells Fargo museum and this was within a few blocks. Nice history of the first police station in Phoenix, located right there. Welcomed by retired police officer who now gives a history of and answers questions. This is where the Miranda rights law came about. Photo ops on the old police... More

Just one small room full of exhibits and photos on the history since the nineteen hundreds. Wayne was so helpful and explained us everything. Very informative! 30 minutes are sufficient.

Learned about the first elected law man in Phoenix to the first hired women on the force. Many displays of police artifacts, for uniforms to nightsticks to verity of weapons, robots. Also on display is a vehicle and motorcycle. Must see the bomb squad uniform and it is free to the public. Children would like it very much.

If you are in the downtown area, there are three small museums that can be visited withing walking distance of each other. Police Museum, Fireman Museum and Wells Fargo. They are all interesting and the Police Museum is worth the visit.

Enjoyed seeing the displays and the helicopter. However, talking to the former officers who volunteer at the museum was the highlight. One of them had been the pilot of the police helicopter on display. The information on Miranda was also captivating. The Memorial to fallen officers really hit home as to how dangerous police work has become. Not only is... More

I finally went here and was pleasantly surprised. They have many police related items, an old police helicopter, old patrol car, old police motorcycle, jail cell, etc. The have a room dedicated to the fallen officers. That was very moving. There was a lady ex officer that showed me around. She was very friendly and helpful. Information is there on... More

The Phoenix Police Museum is a great visit when you have some spare time while visiting downtown. It has several large exhibits including a replica of an old Arizona Jail, history of the Miranda decision (Miranda Warnings came from a Phoenix Police case), uniforms for younger patrons to wear while visiting, an old police helicopter, and old police car and... Charming retired policemen are on staff to assist you through the museum. If you are lucky enough you can be taken upstairs to the old jail. Don't be in a hurry as they love to tell their experience first hand. It's interesting and a beautiful historic building in downtown Phoenix.
