Course was in good shape. Was sent to tee box without waiting. Friendly staff. Price is usually a little higher cost than other municipal courses, but the lay out is a full size course.

Encanto 9 is a fun course. The location is in an older area of Phoenix and is priced to be affordable. For a Muni, the course is in very good condition. The course is flat and pretty straight forward; no forced carries, no fabricated undulations on the fairway, and one one sand hazard. Greens are hard and do not hold... More

Played the nine hole course after work one day - at $11 it was a steal. The course is pretty flat, and the facility certainly won't wow you. But it's good exercise to get out and walk nine holes, and work on your short game. Since it's so close to the city it's easy to get there. The 18-hole course... More

Not very well kept, somewhat overpriced compared to other courses. Staff wasn't very friendly. Grass and greens were dry, pitted, full of ants, and poorly kept.

Better than hitting whiffle balls in your back yard... but not by much. The epitome of the muni tracks that attract slow and sloppy hacks.

Average but fun. I enjoyed the layout and found the greens to be somewhat slow. I probably woulkd not return in the future.

Encanto Golf Course is celebrating its 75th year in 2012. It is the 3rd oldest course in the Valley. It's worth a visit just for the history. Several of the "greats" played here: Nelson, Sneed, Hogan--the list is endless. It's a William Bell layout, which is also interesting. When we played in the early, early morning--first light--the course played a... More

This is a very economical course, but does not have any great interest. Fine to just go get some golfing in.

City of Phoenix has a very useful online application to check out and schedule tee times at various city courses. I chose Encanto to play with my wife. The staff were very friendly and more importantly, well organized, so that foursomes moved quickly and on schedule. we played Christmas Day for $25 including carts. Easy course, no lost balls, saves... More

The layout is flat and not overwhelming but when you want to get out and swing the clubs with very few lost balls this is a good option. It is not very long so if you are a short hitter you can enjoy yourself and get close to par. The views are great, as they are from most Phoenix courses,... More
