This is 1.3 miles straight up. Many sections are rock climbs (no ropes required). The side of the mountain with visitor parking is not for everyone. It is a strenuous work out and you can get hurt. I saw blood on people who had slipped...More

Group went on an afternoon hike. Weather was perfect (73 degrees). Besure to pace yourself and bring water. Drink before you start and along the way. The view from all spots are fantastic. If you make it to the peak you will have a great...More

Fun way to get the heart pounding. Not a leisurely hike. Both routes are challenging near the top, but the east route is easier on the first half whereas the Echo canyon trail gets steep shortly into the trek. Wouldn't bring kids unless they have...More

This is a very popular spot for visitors to come hike. However it is a very challenging hike. Many people need to be rescued because they didn’t have enough water or they didn’t head the warning signs at the beginning of trail. It’s a pretty...More

A general hike Camelback before the sun rises so that I can be on the top of the mountain when the sun does rise. It's a beautiful hike very easily done when it's not hot out. I do not recommend hiking the mountain during a...More

Amazing view from the top! Not an easy climb but well worth the effort. I went up Echo Canyon Trail and found the other climbers to be helpful and friendly. Not for people who don't like heights but you only have to go as far...More

58 years old and 30lbs overweight, i made it to post 25 on the Cholla Trail without any problems. Go early, 0700, take your time, drink water and anyone can do this part of the hike. It is after post 25 that the hike turns...More

Got up early to get a parking space along the residential road to walk to the trail entrance. Walk to casual pace and it’s about 45 to 50 minutes up depending on how many pictures you take and if you have to stop for other...More

Definitely worth the ride every time! Breathtaking views. Ice cold water that the kids can dip in. It’s about 1.5 hours away but the views are stunning. That’s my son sunning at the top after sliding down a natural slide made of rock with ice...More

As soon after sunrise as possible. If you're driving and it's a weekend, parking can fill up quickly. And you beat the heat.
