Hop on your own ATV on this off-roading adventure in the Sonoran Desert. After a safety briefing and training, gear up and ride across rugged, rocky trails in the scenic Bradshaw Mountains, as well as cross the Agua Fria River. The hike itself was awesome. Challenging with significant vertical elevation change, but a feeling of accomplishment when completed. You do need to be in pretty good shape. We started at about 5:30 and used flashlights in the beginning. This allowed us to find a parking spot and view the sunrise from the mountain top. Negatives - Difficult to find parking. Crowded and not many masks in these times of Covid. Positives - Great challenging hike. Excellent views from the top.

We did this hike on a beautiful 70 degree day and it was very challenging. Hardest hike we've ever done but it was so worth it. Take plenty of water. Crowded trail but not so much that it takes away from the experience. Wear hiking shoes! Plan on 2-3 hours - 2 if you are fit.

Take water and when you are half way through what you brought turn back. Don't go when its hot, you can't take your dog and you wouldn't want to. Unless you are FIT DO NOT EXPECT TO get to the top the fist time.

Echo Canyon Trailhead is only 5’ away from Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa. We went early 7:30am and plenty parking available. It is rated difficult trail with rough climbing. The view was rewarding at top, even at half way. On our way down, too many people climb up. People take turns at narrow points.
