Twelve "youngish seniors" went for the adult puppet slam. It was creative and different! You can buy tickets at the door for $12. or order them ahead for $10. The theater is in an old Mormon church, a cool old building. You can buy a beer or wine. Yes, it's pretty low-tech, but what on earth do you think you... More

Took 3 grand children ages 7, 7, & 8, all girls. They're very tech savy, so wasn't sure how they'd enjoy this. We had a great few hours in downtown. The original buildings are incredible; the theater itself is a renovated Mormon church. If you go look at the incredible ceiling. I remember old Punch & Judy shows with handheld... More

Could not and would not recommend it. Overpriced at the "low" price. Totally un- funny and not at all adult. Did I hear one "swear word?" Will never attend again.

We took the grandkids for the afternoon show, Super puppy. They were able to sit down front on the carpet close to the stage. The puppeteer did some warm up exercises for the kids before the show, which the kids liked. The show was very low budget with one puppeteer doing all the characters and voices, but the kids didn't... More

I have loved this theater for most of my life. However, recently I called the office and the staff was extremely RUDE! Also, when we arrived at the theater, the workers where completely rude. I used to recommend this show, but now, my family will never be returning.

WAITED FOREVER for the puppets to return. Went last night and left at intermission. What a bust. In past years they must have had professionals come in from out of town. These were totally amateur. NEVER WILL RETURN. What ever happened to the NUDITY --- but especially the laughs. Count me out!!!!

My wife and I are huge proponents of the arts. I feel this is important to mention because my review is about to get dirty. The venue itself was fantastic and I really would have loved to see more of it actually. The reason for going was the main attraction alas, the puppet show. We have seen a lot of... More

My friend has been to four Puppet Slams at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater and really wanted me to see one too, so she treated me to one for my birthday. The Puppet Slams are for ages 18 and up. No kids! (The one I attended lasted about an hour and half--including intermission--and cost $12 at the door.) The building... More

I'm always searching for things to do with the grand kids that are a little outside of mainstream and discovered The Great Az Puppet Theatre while searching online. The building is in a nice downtown neighborhood, accessible by light rail, and across from the Japanese Friendship Garden and a nice park/playground. The building itself is a restored Mormon church and... More

The show we saw was great, perfect for my 5yo, and my 7yo enjoyed it too. It was really nice to remind them not all entertainment comes from a screen :)
