We wanted something different to do one afternoon, as we come to Scottsdale every year in the spring. We found the ASU Art Museum and decided to check it out. It is a free museum, and you can also find free parking. The exhibits were thought provoking and really well curated. The staff were friendly and available to answer any... More

I have to admit if the unseasonably hot weather this week hadn't caused us to research indoor activities we wouldn't have visited this museum. We also visited the Ceramics Research Center which is about two blocks from the Nelson Fine Arts Museum. I was impressed with the collection of contemporary art with an emphasis on Latino artists and the layout... More

We did not get to see the entire museum, but from what our schedule allowed I was impressed by all of the art, paintings and pictures.

The ASU Art Museum isn't anything spectacular but if you have some free time and are in the area, it's a decent way to fill in an hour or so.

Tried to find this place using the link from TripAdvisor and it's not there. Led us on Van Buren, North of the river near the Hall of Flame which was really cool and only $7. I would guess it's South of the river on ASU campus.

Always like to spend time looking at art and there were some interesting pieces, but it struck me that this would not be great for someone who cannot do stairs easily, of course, they have options for that, but considering the arrangement it seems like not the best building for an art museum. I liked the gift shop and found... More

We stopped in to kill some time before heading to the airport. There wasn't too much to see. They were changing out some exhibits that made it an even shorter visit.

We had some time to kill in Tempe before our dinner reservations & decided to take in the museum. What a nice surprise. There was a great photography exhibit going on and several provocative pieces that were part of the museum's permanent collection. The layout is a bit odd, with a lot of stairs, but the collection itself is very... More
