About
Liberty Wildlife is a non-profit rescues, rehabilitation, education and sustainability organization located just south of Sky Harbor Airport. Tucked inside Phoenix city lines, we have an amazing backdrop along the Rio Salado. Tour through our sustainable building and get a glimpse of how our hospital treats the sick, injured and orphaned wildlife that arrive daily. Also walk through our education trail where you will see non-releasable birds of prey, including native hawks, owls and even bald and golden eagles. Each day that we are open to the public there is a presentation in our amphitheater at 11:15. You'll get an up close experience with some of the wildlife that we care for.

Best experience in AZ

Liberty Wildlife is a “must” if you are anywhere close to the Phoenix area. The building is LEED certified and it is very attractive and well designed. The $5 entry fee is certainly reasonable.

They have a great little presentation where they share some of the birds close up. They share stories about the birds and the kids in attendance were glued to the speakers. You can see so many birds in their habitat areas and they are very interesting.

They have an area where you can see some of the local animals from the area that are not able to go back out into the wild. The lady in charge if this section is excited to share with you information about each species.

They have a feather repository that is so cool. These feathers are saved for the native tribes. What a great project!!

This cool place is worth a visit. Remember, they are only open Wed, Sat and Sunday.

I decided to do this while my son was visiting a friend and I am so glad I did! You can have up close encounters with raptors that are being rehabilitated. They do a great job here. If you are a bird lover you must go!

Wonderful place to visit!

Liberty is a wildlife rescue rehabilitation and conservation organization. The education side of the facility is open to visitors several times each week (check the website for specific days and times). The education side houses animals that could not be released due to the nature of their injury or illness.

This is the best place to see and photograph native birds of prey up close. Open hours usually include an opportunity to see an eagle feed and listen to education about eagles. You will see volunteers handling, caring for, and interacting with the birds. They can help you get an unobstructed photo of the birds and tell you all about the history of each animal. Many of the volunteers will help you snap a picture with a bird.

There is also an interactive room with displays that can be touched as well as reptiles and a Pygmy owl named Newton.

Along the rehab side of the facility you can watch surgeries through a window as well as new intakes coming into the facility and being examined by volunteers.

Be sure to say hi to ravens Lenny, Beaker, and Clarence. They thrive on the attention!

An Excellent Service for wildlife which have been injured

I have not required their service (I'm not wild enough), but I have heard nothing but praise about them. Their star rating is 4.9 out of 5.0. I have walked my dogs by them before sunrise since before they owned the land on Elwood St.

Wonderful!

I may be a little biased as my friend volunteers there, but this place does amazing work with the animals in their care. They will rehab and release all of the animals that can be released, the animals that cannot be released have a loving caring home to see to their welfare for the rest of their lives.

It's More Than You Realize!

Liberty does a fantastic job of rescuing, rehabbing, and releasing wild animals (primarily birds and native species). In their limited public hours (check FB because hours change with the seasons), you can see the education animals up close, learn their stories and learn how to make a difference to help all wildlife. The staff and volunteers seem to love to share their knowledge and information without making it dry. Highly recommend!

I wish I could give it TEN STARS!

This facility was the highlight of our Phoenix trip! If you like eagles, owls, birds, reptiles or animal rehab, you will love this place! The handlers absolutely love these animals and you are immediately aware that these animals are treated like family. Each animal has a story, and the handlers love to talk about each one! This is the closest I have ever come to an eagle, and I even heard them talking/singing! This center helps thousands of animals every year, and those that can't be released are given a great home here. The facility itself is very modern and clean. We had no problems finding the center, and we spent a couple of hours here. I can't wait to go back!

Liberty Wildlife Soars High: Raptors & Reptiles, Oh My!
Feb 2019 • Couples
We live in Phoenix and just heard about Liberty Wildlife recently. On Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday they have public hours from 10am-1pm., so we finally made a Saturday morning trip over there. They have a live Eagle feeding and a live Bird of Prey presentation. We learned so much about these strong and beautiful raptors and were close up to see them and take photos. All of the volunteers and handlers at Liberty Wildlife are very knowledgable, approachable and kind. We enjoyed EVERY MINUTE of the presentations and then walked around the facility to see the other birds in captivity. Each protected space has the bird’s name and species. There’s also a reptile area! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this awesome facility!

We plan on going back to visit often and may even volunteer. Their mission statement says it all. So if you’re visiting Phoenix or you live here like we do, you must visit Liberty

Liberty Wildlife is committed to nurturing the nature of Arizona by providing quality wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education, and conservation services for the community.
