The Franciscan Renewal Center (also known as “The Casa”) is a spiritual oasis for renewal, rest, and prayer. We provide space for meetings, overnight stays, private and directed retreats, adult education programs, conference rooms for nonprofit groups, and licensed behavioral health counseling.

The Casa is a quick 20-minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Nestled between majestic Camelback and Mummy Mountains, it’s located on 25 acres of beautiful, quiet desert landscape in Scottsdale, Arizona. The facilities include over 13,000 square feet of flexible, technologically supported meeting and conference rooms as well as 70 double occupancy rooms, 8 single occupancy rooms, and 4 handicap accessible rooms for overnight stays. Our guest rooms are designed without phones or TVs in order to maximize time for quiet, peaceful reflection and renewal. The dining room, which seats up to 150 to 175 guests, can provide buffet style meals for your breakfast, lunch, and dinners so you can better focus on your meeting or retreat as well.

The Casa is a non-profit and active religious community of the Order of Friars Minor — a worldwide Franciscan family that follows in the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. Its base is the Franciscan Province of Saint Barbara, in Oakland, California which works with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. The Conventual Church of Our Lady of the Angels on the property offers daily and Sunday masses and a vibrant family catechesis program. Some of the groups that use our facilities include over 20 outreach ministries that give aid to the poor or vulnerable and empower individuals to improve their circumstances.

Including the lovely circular oratory clad in wood paneling and lit overhead. Loving community with all kinds of activities and classes to engage their audience.

This establishment has multi purposes (worship center, overnight accommodations, gift store, cafeteria, outdoor spiritual features, outbuildings for counceling, spa treatments, residences, etc. This review has to do with our experience as overnight guests at a marriage retreat which included 3 meals breakfast, lunch, dinner, several hours in the Serra conference room, and "hotel" room. Our room, 68, was in the... More

This is a truly unique destination for anyone seeking a tranquil place to pray and meditate, or even just to relax (you don't have to be Catholic to enjoy this facility - everyone is welcome). I really enjoyed the sprawling campus which is currently under what appears to be a major expansion. There are many paths to walk, places to... More

This is a wonderful setting for a 5 day spiritual retreat! Rooms are like hotel rooms. Meals are delicious. Grounds, murals, statues, labyrinth are lovely for meditation. There is even a swimming pool. Great view of Camelback Mountain.

I've been attending the Franciscan Renewal Center on and off since moving here in 1976. It is the epitome of the word "commumity" from the wonderful Friars to the creative musicians to the warm inclusive worshipers. I truly believe if Jesus came to the Casablanca, He would say..."yeah, that's what I'm talking about." I love this place! Barbara Huckemeyer, Scottsdale... More

I was invited to a workshop that was held in one of the classrooms here. I thought it a little strange that a workshop on video streaming for the web would be at a spiritual center like this but it made being there all the better. The grounds are just beautiful and calming and so were the folks walking around... More

whether you're religious or not, this place will calm you and restore some faith in humanity. the grounds [some parts under construction] are lovely, always blooming with gorgeous flowers, and bunnies running about, hummingbirds buzzing around and the stillness of the morning air adds to the peacefulness one can't help but feel while here.
