Unfortunately when we were here the home/museum was closed so we only saw it in passing. The home was built by Fortunata Beban in 1913 . According to the stories we heard, the ordered the home as a "kit" from a Swiss catalog company. We really loved the Swiss Architecture of this unique home. BOTTOM LINE: It is located just outside the the main town but within walking distance. It was donated by the Behan family to the city in 1980 and was later moved to this park-like location. At one time it served as a social hall to the community. Worth a quick photo. Not sure if it is permanently closed, The outside looked like it needed some sprucing up. MY RATING: 7/10…

You cant miss this place because of the architecture and its out in the open as you approach town. Nothing super special but gives you some good information about the past. Its free. You will spend less than an hour here but worth the stop.

This museum was home of one of the pioneers of Ushuaia. You can take a look at how ancestors of current residents had lived before.
