During our trip in Argentina, we found many testimonies about the 1982 reconquista war of Las Malvinas, including the 50 pesos banknote. This memorial isby far the largest. It reminds the Vietnam memorial in Washington DC. It just at a walking distance from downtown Ushuaia...More

I do remember 'the English Pirates' (quoting the sign at the harbour in Ushuaia) liberating these islands from an invading force in 1982. I had no knowledge of the Argentinian claim on these islands dating back to the early 1800s, so I am really interested...More

The town has little to offer and is merely streets lined with tourist tat repeated shop by shop at unrealistic prices. The surrounding area is magical both on land and water

Isla Malvinas belongs to Argentina, and this place is built to commemorate who sacrificed their life to protect the island from UK. However, this plaza is kinda far away from city center and took me a lot of time and energy to get there.

Plaza Malvinas is like the other memorials I have been to in various parts of the world. Sad. What is so important that we must kill an other human being? Why do “We”, I mean the world, through out history, kill each other over “Stuff”?...More
