The explanations of Argentinean history from the time of the dinosaurs to colonialism are surprisingly detailed and intense for such a small museum. We spent a couple of hours here and learned a lot. Take some time to sit down with some mate afterwards to discuss the exhibits.

This museum gives a good insight into the most exciting parts of the areas history from the dinosaur era with great skeletons through the mega-mammals to the human period. All is well explained with a good English translation and the visit finishes with serving of "mate" tea and opportunity to chat with the very friendly staff at the centre.

It's not centrally located (a few blocks away from downtown) but worth spending an hour inside. We were hoping for more modern history (last 500 years) and less about dinosaurs. Friendly staff, free mate at the end.

It is a great place to see an underappreciated culture. Also has multilingual papers if you are not fluent in Spanish.

The personnel working here is extremely friendly. Don't be afraid of sharing a "Mate" after your visit and having a chat. The museum itself is very informative where you can easily spend a couple of hours going back in time. Very recommendable, even though a bit expensive.

We found this to be one of the most interesting and informative museums we have visited for its size. The amazing fossils, and history and photos of the local Indians is not only informative, but very thought provoking. This is certainly a place that every visitor should make sure they spend some time in and visit!

It seemed like a very small museum, but there were actually around 5 exhibits on natural history, human cultures, social history, and more. The perspectives on ancient human cultures in the area and the colonial and recent history of Patagonia were my personal favorite aspects, but there is much to learn from every area. I thought the entrance fee was... More

A good way to pass an hour. Full of information about Patagonia and what has happened in the area over a long period of time. Interesting.

A treasure of a small museum in what looks from the outside like a warehouse. From dinosaurs to local fauna and the ravages faced by the indigenous people, it is educative as well as makes a strong political statement. The lady at the reception desk is friendly and has stories to tell while you drink your free mate cocido.
