From all beaches seen in the area, i would say this is the best one. Although no facilities, and you have to drive 20 to 30 minutes to get there, the beach is extense, does not have too much people, and the water is calm and transparent. It is a sand beach, as opposed to pebbles, very smooth, and in... More

This is an amazing opportunity to see (Southern Right) whales really close up. At the start of our ("sunset journey") we were quickly kitted up (life jackets) before going to the boat. As we headed out we passed sea lions on a nearby headland and saw (at a distance) a whale near a different boat but my worries that this... More

For those traveling on a budget or those who simply don't fancy the idea of the boat ride to go whale watching, the Doradillo beach is an excellent choice. Only a ten minute drive from town, you can watch the whales from the beach really close. What's more, it's supposed to be an area where they mate. I was lucky... More

The best time to visit is from late September to early October during whale season and when the tide is high and that is the best time to visit is free. You can also see them embarking on Puerto Pyramid and navigate with them, this tour is a must, it is pay.

It is known as el doradillo, but it is a set of different 'bajadas' (entrances). Look for the last one, a beach of stones. At high tide, you can see whales at 20 meters...you can be told about it...watch pictures... but being there is undescribable!

I worked as a volunteer in El Doradillo for two weeks and I simply couldn't get used to seeing whales jumping right in front of me, so close to the beach, all the time. The best time to visit is during whale season and when the tide is high. My stay was from late Sept to early Oct, and that's... More

This municipal reserve is undoubtedly the best place on the whole planet to watch whales - and I´ve done it a lot all around in the last 38 years! Just get there from June to September (later on whales seem to move further down the coast to Puerto Pirámides and thereabouts), and walk down the pebble beach with whales frolicking... More

If you want to see whales you should go here. We were here in June and it was pretty windy. Whales are hundred meters from the shore it is a unique place.
