Our tour guide took us here for a few quick photos. Easy short walk from the parking area. No water here at the time we visited.

This is a great half day activity. The walk from town is uphill and 4km. You get lovely views of the surrounding hills, cacti etc. Once you arrive you pay 30 pesos to go in to the actual devils throat area and walk up river...More

We hiked from Tilcara, the start of the hike is nice as you get to see the surrounding colorful mountains more clearly than from the town, only a bit steep at times. Once you get to the actual devil's throat you pay 20 arg pesos,...More

There are 2 ways to go up: a 4km hike or a dirt road for cars. We hiked up. For 20 pesos you can go down in the garganta and continue for another 20 minutes to a waterfall. We didn't go all the way. Fun...More

We set off on this walk early morning, although the initial trek is up hill and challenging it soon levels out before you reach the entrance. It's then steeply down and following the steam to reach the impressive waterfall. It's well worth the extra effort...More

Nice panoramic car route to arrive to the beginning of the throat. You can do it also by foot o by horse. You overview all over Tilcara. Then you have to go down an walk for 15 minutes to arrive to the throat.

Nice walk to spend 30mins, but don't forget to consider there is a 25min car drive from and to Tilcara.

Straightforward path with a height gain of around 1,000 feet. You have to go down to the ravine for the waterfall, after paying 15 pesos. Great views. Best to do in the morning before the wind gets up. Note we are veteran walkers.
