We took a tour there in a 4 x 4 truck and it was great. The place is really beautiful. Really cold even in spring, take a jacket!

It takes about 2 hours from Maipu to drive up to Aconcagua Park. The colors are a rainbow strata of dusky desert reds, purples, salmon and dark browns! The green scattered brush was a beautiful contrast. I hiked the 8.5 K Trail from the visitors...More

The view is breathtaking and the road that take to mountain is amazing. I recommend to rent a good car, with a minimum 1.4L engine.

It's an easy hike, but a long ride! Not much else to do out there that would be entertaining for a toddler.
