This is a great place to visit an old house that has fallen into disrepair. I know this is one of the top things to do in Mar del Plata but, don't set your hopes too high. Really THE top thing(s) to do in Plata involves the ocean...swimming, boarding, sailing fishing.. The home was a home to a very wealthy... More

The figure of JL Borges gravitates the place, it is interesting to visit a house where he was a guest for many times and where a few unexpected authors spent some time.

I loved visiting Villa Ocampo. She was a magnificent woman and her home is beautiful and the same as when she lived there. Many famous people visited her home and the photos and letters of some of them are still there.

The summer villa of the famous Argentinian writer Victoria Ocampo. She was wealthy, married a wealthy man and travelled and lived also in Europe. Her 6-volume autobiography describe the emancipation of an independent and strong-willed woman at the beginning of '900. The villa itself does not contain any furniture, but its architecture is beautiful and very evocative! There are cultural... More

If you're familiar with Victoria Ocampo's work, this is the right place to go and grasp how the high society of the early 20th. century used to spend their vacation time.

Originally this was the summer home of renowned Argentine author Victoria Ocampo and today it is a UNESCO museum. The grounds are beautifully kept and the main floor of the mansion is open to the public where you can enjoy the period décor. There is a small indoor/outdoor restaurant offering interesting menu items at affordable prices. A nominal admission charge... More

This was the summer home of the family of Victoria Ocampo in Mar del Plata and is currently a Cultural Center where the memory is recreated in a written, artistic and educational format. There are also temporary exhibitions there as well!
