its only a few blocks big, and except from some street food, there is nothing new. There are Chinese super markets, but you'll find them all over the city of BA. Although you do feel like its a big concentration of Asians once you're there.

Chinatown is fronted by the traditional Chinese gate, which is impressive. There is a large Chinese population in Buenos Aires, and I noticed a building that acknowledged Taiwan-Argentina economic relations. It is basically about 3 blocks long, filled with restaurants (all of which say that authentic Chinese cuisine is offered), curio shops and a Chinese grocery store. I even encountered a Falun Gong support rally by non- Chinese people....but, the Chinese pedestrians and shoppers were basically ignoring them.....interesting.

I have been to Buenos Aires multiple times but this was my first visit to Barrio Chino. I took a hop on hop off bus tour and this was one of the stops. I walked the main street and i rather enjoyed seeing chinese people speaking spanish. This seemed cleaner than average chinatowns. There are a few restaurants, asian grocerys, and some stores selling various junky souvenirs. If you have a limited amount of time in Buenos Aires I probably would not make this a desination but for me it was worthwhile since I was in the neighborhood.
