The area
Neighbourhood: Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.

A Hidden Gem
Nov 2017 • Couples
We have been coming here for YEARS on our 2-3 month stays in Buenos Aires. We arrived Nov.10th...and shall be here until jan 15th. Our first week here we "popped in" to see the Gatti photographs. Not our "cup of tea" but interesting anyway. Yesterday we "popped in" yet again and thoroughly enjoyed Zimmermann's photographs of ARGENTINOS. Perfecto! I must admit we are "museum freaks" and adore the small museos in the city. ENJOY.

Interesting addition to experience

Located adjacent to 'La Biela' cafe and 'La Recoleta'...I highly recommend spending some time at Palais de Glace. If you are a Tango gypsy, then it is a must see...as this building is a part of Tango history ( used to host one of the big milongas). If you are an art buff, or just interested in seeing something different, then I recommend it as well. Found many interesting displays of artistic expression that were quite different...and very captivating. There is no cost associated with entrance...which says quite a bit about Buenos Aires culture and appreciation for the arts. Not a must see, but at the same time...what is? :) But, I highly recommend it along with the attractions near by...great experience!!

Interesting exhibition.

Strolling through Plaza Francia and noted this building adjacent. Decided to satisfy our curiosity and ventured inside. Limited collection of art work and 3D images. The display of best pictures of 2016 were a highlight; unusual content and locations with many open to interpretation. Plenty of open spaces in the building. The building itself is an architectural delight, dating to another earlier era, but looks to be in genteel decay. We enjoyed our time viewing the exhibits although limited by the language barrier.

Not a must-see, but interesting anyways
Jul 2016 • Solo
I was at the Palais de Glace by July 2016, during an exhibition about the best pics of the year and another one about ideograms. Although small, the museus is very interesting and easy to come around, being also close to other touristic attractions such as the Museum of Architecture and Design. Another good point is that its usually not crowded, so that it can be a very relaxing and easygoing experience. But I would definitely not recommend it to families with children.

Love the 3-D art in this unique, circular gallery!

I always come here to check the new exhibits which are mostly 3-D art! Don't miss the second floor gallery, too! It's free!

Palais de Glace, a museum in Recoleta
Feb 2016 • Friends
I went to watch 2 movies, two days in a row. They were hosting a Movie Festival for the Summer at the Museum, placed at Recoleta (calle Posadas). Very nice building, nice staff, interesting movies, very easy to get there. Very recommendable. The Museum has a permanent collection and then they also host diverse artists e g sculptures, painting, video-art. I ve been there several times, I recommend it.

Another great gallery. At the moment they have the 104th edition of the 'Salon Nacional de Arts Visusls 2015' - Ceramica/Grabado/Textil. I particularly loved the Silvio Fischbein work 'Multitudes de la serie Multitudes' 2015 which I have photographed and attached to the review. If you like visual arts this gallery is for you. If you don't move on. Don't miss the second floor! Note: CLOSED on a Monday

Art in the round
Nov 2015
Free contemporary art site in a 2 tier round building. Not many works exhibited and roof seems in need of some restoration, but interesting none the less.
