Gaucho Day Tour Ranch in San Antonio de Areco from Buenos Aires

326 reviews
El Ombu de Areco Estancia is a traditional ranch located in San Antonio de Areco, at the heart of gaucho (cowboy) country and an easy drive from Buenos Aires. On this tour, spend an entire day at the estancia, with activities including horseback riding, a traditional ‘asado’ barbecue lunch, and a thrilling gaucho show.

I’m sure this had potential. It was only 120 pesos to get in, and we were excited to go there, but we had no idea what to do, or where to go when we got inside. We hoped there was a brochure with something in English, but there was NOTHING at all. We couldn’t get into the movie rooms, didn’t know the schedules, and nobody pointed us to anywhere in particular. We were really confused, and finally gave up and walked out. We were very disappointed that there was no way for us to enjoy or understand what they had. It was a big bummer for us 😩. It’s not a good option for English-only speaking visitors.

Great place to stop in for a view of the stars. Just make sure you get show times in advance. Tickets are cheap and it’s close to other local attractions.

Watched a play with the kids, this is a nice stop for curios kids. You can also enjoy the surrounding parks on a sunny day.
