The area
Neighbourhood: Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.

Looks like a tax write-off for a billionaire. Otherwise nothing but a waste of time.

I wasn't expecting much, and didn't even get that. Honestly, there's nothing here. NOTHING. Well I did see a book store. It even had someone inside, but looked like the lights were out. I imagine they didn't expect anybody? There were some security staff giving me dirty looks as I walked past. This whole deal just seems shady and a touch creepy.

Amazing art

Faena Art Center was built out of one of Argentina’s first big flour mills. In what used to be the mill’s old machine room, the main exhibition space has been rebuilt to retain the original details from the 1900s. The spacious, light-filled center, which is over 4,000 m2, is housed by soaring ceilings, semicircular arches, bay windows and other hallmarks of turn-of-the-century industrial architecture.

Excellent venue!

The venue itself is a luxury spot, the high ceilings are beautiful, valid for more than 250 people attending an event, adaptable space and great location with parking right beside.

First off, it was free to enter on Monday's. Score one for the team!!! Basically two rooms in a huge building one would otherwise think they'd have something to show for... The museum, or should I say "exhibits A and B are deep into Puerto Madero off the beaten path... To actually go there to see A: pitch dark room with three disco balls and B: pitch dark room with 5 lights veiling down in another huge space will be quite a story to tell!!! I think I've actually visited the far limits of modern art!!! If you thought like me that you'd found the Argentinian equivalent to the MoMa, this isn't it!!!

PS: I wonder if the Miami gallery is hosting the two white rooms at the moment??? lol
