I've seen obelisk all over the world and this one is a very nice one. Right in the middle of a road so can be seen from both sides. Me sure you take pictures at day and night

Standing tall and white in the mid section of 9 de Julio Avenue, nobody would miss this landmark of Buenos Aires. Indeed, even if you do not go there intentionally for a picture, you would most likely pass by it if you were with a...More

You will see it for sure on what is said to be the widest avenue in the world. Much more interesting are the pictures of it with a condom on if you google it.

it can be confusing downtown but this site is easy to see and you can gage where you are since it is always in sight as you walk around.

Similar in look to the Washington Monument but half its size, the 235' tall concrete and white stone Obelisco of Buenos Aires was completed in 1936. Built to commemorate the city's 400th anniversary, it was completed in only 31 days! There are viewing windows at...More

This giant obelisk stands in the centre of the Avenida 9 Julio at the intersection with Paseo La Plaza. It's big and it's white, but there's not a whole lot to see here.

Quite beautiful and iconic, but in the middle of large roads. Takes about 5 minutes and then you feel like you've seen it all. Nearby Teatra Colón, so if you're going there you might as well pass here.

We had so much fun snapping selfies here along with many other keen tourists too. A good central spot to Teatro Colon, Plaza de Mayo, and many shops and restaurants.

Not much to do here. Just a basic tourist stop for photos and to read about the obelisk. It's a great landmark to reference in the city for meet-ups. There's a little garden with a prime photo op spot near the base of the obelisk.

If you see the obelisc on google street view, you can see there are a lot of buildings near of it, but they are shorter than the tower, they have something like eleven or twelve floors. however i think you can take a nice... More
