The government’s executive branch is housed in this building, a strange mix of various architectural styles, perhaps best known for the balcony from which Evita rallied the working class crowds.

It´s the typical government building in Buenos Aires. You can take picture from Plaza de Mayo and visit there the Cathedral, the Cabildo and the nearby neighborhood of San Telmo (the older Barrio in Buenos Aires). There is also a museum in the lateral back of the Pink House where you can visit the Museum of Presidents. If you are... More

Guided just over 1 hour tour of public spaces on the 2nd (1st to Europeans) floor. MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE online. English tours available at 1230 & 230 (check website) Spanish tour is full-speed & mostly Argentines. Interesting old building with a lot of local history & color. Worth the time, but not spectacular.

The whole place was awe inspiring, if you've ever read any Argentinian history or even just seen the film "Evita" then you'll have goosebumps!

Nice to see a pink house asymmetric... closed to the new Pope former Church is one of the place to visit in Buenos Aires. Take a tour for the characteristic streets around. It is the place of the Government. Avoid days where there are protest or strikes demonstrations.

I did not have my hopes up for this visit. I booked my tickets online and showed up 15 minutes before my tour, as requested at the ticket. I was so surprised. My guide was the lovely Clara. The building is just amazing and full of history behind its walls. It was a delightful experience that I truly recommend.

It's a beautiful place to take a picture and spend some time. But in the end, its a big house, which is pink.

Grab a Viator City Tour, 3-hours, and this will be one of your stops. You will learn about the people, history, and culture from your tour guide. Well worth it!

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
