I stayed one night at Puesto Viejo in January and booked an extra horse ride for the next day. Agustina was the person leading me and another rider on our adventure into the pampas on the huge acreage of the Polo Club and Estancia. I asked Agustina what type of horse we would be riding and was thrilled when she said it would be Peruvian Pasos. I had ridden this breed once before in Peru and loved their wonderfully smooth gaited walk and had been hoping since to ride it again. It was a 35+ degrees Celsius day, but I hardly noticed the heat, the riding was so good. I was given Karina (?spelling), and she was just lovely, forward going yet soft enough in the mouth. As we moved forward, her walk was extremely comfortable and smooth, and the transition to canter was so seamless I felt I was floating on air. We headed out past the polo playing fields onto the pampas where Agustina gave us free rein to explore as we wished on our horses. We met up with some of the resident cows. The only thing that slowed me down a bit was that I didn't want to go too far or fast as they other rider had not ridden since childhood and her horse was following mine. Otherwise, we were both enthralled with our horses and the riding. Agustina, our guide is extremely personable and considerate and so easy to develop that special rapport. I adore her. You would too when you meet her. She will take good care of you. It was so awesome that without even asking, she took photos and videos of us riding - what a wonderful way to capture the awesome memories! When you feel that happy on a horse you want it go on forever! My only complaint would be that the ride was too short. When I booked the ride, I was told the price was for a 2.5 hour, private ride. However, the ride was only 1.75 hours long and not private (although I welcomed Kate's company! :-)). I did not complain to Agustina as she was not the person who I booked with and I did not want to spoil the wonderful mood and rapport. Also, being such a hot day, I did not want to overwork the horses. My only regret is that it was a very expensive ride - but almost worth it because of its intrinsic euphoria-inducing capability. Go ride the Peruvian Paso with Agustina.

We had an amazing day with Agostina and Tomás! They picked us up promptly at 9am at our Airbnb in Buenos Aires. During the car ride, we chatted about life in Argentina and it was super interesting to learn from the locals about the good and the bad. Agostina and Tomás are super nice and personable! Although it rained basically nonstop, we still got to enjoy a fun horseback ride! The horses are beautiful and gentle. Agostina did a great job teaching us how to communicate with the horses. We had both never ridden a horse and we felt safe and comfortable the entire time. The ranch, Puesto Viejo, is absolutely beautiful with wide open pastures. We got to try mate and we also learned about polo and got a practice lesson - so fun! Breakfast and lunch we’re both great, everything tasted delicious. We enjoyed every minute and would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

Thank you so much to Maria! She made me drive horse fast even though it was my third time in my life. It was amazing. I would like to come back. My friend tried Polo and he was super happy to try it. Now he is excited to keep playing Polo. The territory is beautiful, people are super friendly and kind. I definitely recommend it! Thank you so much for hosting us!

I thourghly enjoyed my ride through the countryside and pampas. My horse being really gentle and responsive made me feel safe/comfortable. This along with being able to set the pace aloud me to really enjoy this ride. I would recommend this to all levels of riders.

Really great day, the ranch catered for us as experienced riders seperately from the beginner group and we had a great ride across farmlands. Gorgeous lunch in the ranch gardens, then folk dancing to guitar and an incredible horse show which you need to see for yourself to believe!
