Don't miss the architecture beauty that is dated late 16th century. It's easy to access from the road- We came by car. I saw a group walking with a guide along the aqueduct. You will take some beautiful pictures there.

We were only in Tomar for 1 day so had to be organised Engaged a taxi for 10 eur to drive us out to the magnificent aquaduct, went to 3 different sights and stopped for photos. It is well worth the visit, the condition is...More

Portugal shows an abundance of aqueducts in the center region, surprisingly, this one, providing the water to the convent of christ is one of the best samples of medieval structures. Well preserved and easy to follow for several km

Visited the Aqueduct on a Tuk Lovers Tour and the immensity and dedication in building the structure was impressive. More impressive than the Aqueduct in the Provence of France. Definitely take the time to visit Tomar, it's a city that should not be missed.

If you are visiting the Convent of Christ (Templar Knights Castle in Tomar), we would highly recommend taking 10 minutes to visit Pegoes Aqueduct. It is amazing.

This is just outside of Tomar though it's not well signposted from Tomar direction. I'm a fan of aquaducts (no, really) - they are always a reminder of what amazing things people built centuries ago that had a genuine purpose and they never fail to...More

Simply worth a visit while driving by and quickly stopping. If you don't have a car I wouldn't bother.

Beautiful and impressive aqueduct. Easy to reach and just a few Km from Tomar. Was almost empty when we arrived. Amazing views and possibility to walk along the top but be careful: there's no safety barrier and it's a long fall down. :-)

This is, I am told a unique construction with a bland of Gothic and Roman architecture. The engineering is impressive, the sheer size is impressive, the design is impressive. Worth taking the time to visit it.
